Blackberries are very tasty when added into any muffin recipe

Use old containers like Pringle cylinders to play Pop goes the Weasle! Just squeeze the sides with the lid on and – pop it will come flying off. Many can be decorated and used to play rolling to each other games or… filled with some dry beans or seeds to make a shaker…. or you can use them as drums….or as fun place to store your rhythm stones or treasures!

Corn Doll Craft
Here are photos that I hope show you how to make a lovely corn decoration or corn doll using 5 heads of wheat. Of course they are normally golden yellow but if you want to you can get green young stems as they are more flexible the first time you try this. So get out into the countryside, if you are in the UK, around July or August and take a few from the edge of a wheat field being careful not to damage the farmers crop. This was called gleaning in the old days!

Peel the leaves off at this point
Here are the stems
without
the leaves
Tie an uneven number of stalks – e.g. 5 together using a stem from an additional wheat stalk.
You can use raffia if you prefer.

Tie it together at the end

This is how to make a platt

Take the end into the beginning and secure it.
